A photo of the Qi AirPower charger would mark its return

Remember: in September 2017, Apple decided to enter the mobile phone market(almost) wireless charging. The firm presented - during the same keynote announcing the iPhone

Unfortunately, its story was short-lived: the gadget will never be marketed, most sources having heard of the problem counting onoverheating problems. But a component already seen on certain iPhones could well change the situation…

An ARM processor in the structure?

Indeed, according to Jon Prosser, already at the origin of many hypotheses about Apple's next references, the SoCA11 Bionicwhich already equips the iPhone 8 range would better manage the heat generated by an AirPower. It would therefore be favored at the moment by its manufacturer to be integrated into prototypes.

While working from home, engineers on Apple’s ‘Sharing and Proximity’ team are receiving prototype units of something called “C68“.

They are being asked work on software communication between devices for a “future product” that has an A11 inside to “dynamically manage heat”.pic.twitter.com/q4UvnF4ksx

At the moment, there is no indication that a stable version will ever end up on sale. It is nevertheless an encouraging sign for all customers of Apple's mobile ecosystem, since this chargerinductionhas a size large enough to accommodate a Watch, an iPhone and even AirPods at the same time.
