In recent months and weeks, we have seen a growing number of rumors concerning the upcoming arrival this fall of a new 16-inch MacBook Pro, which would have a new design, and would adopt a new “scissor” keyboard.
According to analyst Jeff Lin of IHS Markit, production of this model would begin next month, which corroborates previous rumors that this model would be released in October. He also states that this user model ofprocesseurs Intel Coffee Lake-H. The same as the current 15-inch MacBook Pro.
We should therefore expect equivalent or slightly better performance compared to the latest 15-inch MacBook Pro. Moreover, the latter would be living his last days, because according to Jeff Lin's sources, he would bereplaced by the new 16-inch MacBook Pro.
The reason being that the 16-inch MacBook Pro would have the same case size as the 15-inch, but would offer a larger screen thanks to reduced borders. It would then make no sense to keep the 15-inch in the catalog.
Last week, Digitimes claimed that the next 16-inch MacBook Pro should feature a chassis very close to that of the current 15-inch model. The 16-inch screen with a resolution of 3072*1920 pixels would be embedded in the metal case by reducing the visible margins on its sides.
According to reliable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple plans to integrate a new “scissor” keyboard into the next 16-inch MacBook Pro, in order to replace the problematic “butterfly” keyboard of current MacBooks. This “scissor” keyboard would then be found in all future MacBooks.
This new 16-inch MacBook Pro could be released next October, with a pricearound 3000 dollars.
