MacBook Pro: ultimately, no OLED screen for a long time

Another signed rumorRoss Young. The analyst from Display Supply Chain Consultants claims to know that the long-awaited OLED panels on future MacBooks will not ultimately appear before 2026, at the earliest. This solution is supposed to offer users better contrasts and more vibrant colors than ever before, even though most tests of current MacBook Pros already guarantee that their displayis among the most gleaming on the market.

We cannot of course verify with confidence the information shared by Young, however he has already been right more than once before. We also owe himpredictions about the future of iPhone screens, which have been Apple's best-selling products for almost ten years now.

A major investment for Samsung

Even so, Young and the Reuters news agency assume that the recent investment of$3.1 billion from Samsungin Asia is used to build a production line for, precisely, future OLED screens for Macs. But the circuit would therefore not start for a while, the time not only to finish assembling the machines but also to recruit and train enough employees.

It is more precisely in South Korea, in Asan, that the supplier factory is located. This has already been seen at the helm of the Retina screens of iPhones, which sell several hundred million copies each year. It is therefore absolutely not surprising to see Apple also trust it for its Macs, even if its competitor also markets its own laptops. We can in particular cite theGalaxy Book3 360, touchscreen, powered by the Windows 11 operating system and with 32 GB of RAM for 1 TB of internal storage.

The iPad Pros are also very efficient

In the meantime and for touchscreen elsewhere, users can always turn tothe 12.9-inch iPad Profrom Apple. This is not yet equipped with OLED technology, but still benefits from a mini-LED IPS screen which also offers strikingly realistic blacks. Graphic designers and many imaging specialists appreciate its comfort, despite a very off-putting entry price, starting at 1,469 euros with only 128 GB of internal storage. The maximum bill can reach 2,849 euros for 2 TB, but always without counting the price of AppleCare+ insurance.
