With the arrival of the iPhone, the Apple company is emphasizing respect for the environment. In fact, the company wants to achieve a neutral carbon footprint by 2030. In order to achieve this objective, it is implementing numerous actions, such asthe use of recycled materialsto design some of its products.
And recently, with the arrival of the iPhone 15, Apple decided to no longer sell leather cases.Rumors have been circulating for a long timeon this subject, until it was confirmed during the last Keynote, on September 12. During its conference, the firm presented its newecological fine weave accessories, including among othersprotections and card holders.
Immediately received, immediately returned
Bad reviews of FineWoven accessories are multiplying on the web. And for good reason, the latest protections for iPhone from the Cupertino company do not keep their promises. Some were so disappointed with them that they returned them directly.
Especially since opinions seem unanimous concerning the hull in particular:its cost is far too high for the quality offered.
«Received and returned“said a member of the MacRumors forum. Another says: “The case itself is nice IMO, but I'm not sure the high price is worth it. The leather cases were so much nicer. I'm all for nature, but when it comes to value for money, the FineWoven case is just mediocre.»
Same story on Twitter:
«I've been using Apple's cases for my phones since the iPhone 7, but I've never returned a case as quickly as I did with the FineWoven case I pre-ordered last Friday. FineWoven looks like absolute garbage.»

Scratching it is enough to leave an indelible scratch.
Journalist Alison Johnson of TheVerge was also very critical of the new protections. According to her, a simple scratch with a fingernail can permanently mark it. “When you scrape off FineWoven, the results are apparently permanent. When we first inspected the cases after picking them up at Apple Park, Verge editor-in-chief Nilay Patel took one and ran his fingernails over it five times — and that's all he took to leave an indelible scratch mark on the fabric. The scratches are still there a week later, no matter how many times I tried to “polish” them by rubbing my finger over them.»
Some believe that this series of bad reviews is due to the novelty, and that within 10 months public opinion should have changed in favor of “Fine Woven”. However, if, as some reviews state, the protections are easily damaged, this may not happen.
And you, are you still going to be tempted by Apple's new ecological accessories?
