Meditation would soon come natively to Apple Watch

During WWDC 2021 (our full summary), Apple officially presented the latest version of its operating system for connected watches. This notably includes a redesign of the Respirer app, which is now calledMindfulness. Literally “Mindfulness” in French, the official translation of this title having even been confirmed by the developer.

And in fact, Internet users who recently consulted the various media made available by Apple after its event have just seen a screenshot of its wearable where we can clearly read “audio meditations“. There is therefore almost no doubt that this practice will soon be offered in watchOS, overshadowing other platforms such as Headspace.

Expected features

The image has since been removed from the visuals because it was probably revealed in error, we do not know more at the moment. But it's easy to assume that Apple will offer quick feel-good check-ins, lasting just a few minutes. By looking at Headspace, we see that the service is quite similar to what seems to be in the Apple boxes:

As is often the case, it is likely that the various content offered by Apple is created here in partnership with experts in the sector. We were thus able to see renowned sports coaches during the design of Fitness+ video courses, which are not yet accessible in France. Mindfulness, on the other hand, should not cost more: perhaps France will therefore be able to benefit from it at the same time as everyone else.

A few more weeks to wait

In any case, the Mindfulness app as presented by Apple will probably not be available to the general public before the fall. In fact, the publisher is currently reserving the first tests for members of its beta program. The operation is the same after each Worldwide Developer Conference: it is first a matter of identifying as many possible bugs as possible before offering a more stable version to the market.
