Meta deploys its AI on Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp

Artificial intelligence is today one of the priorities of the Meta group. And this week, it announces a new step, with the release of its new Llama 3 model. Compared to the previous version, this one brings many improvements.“With Llama 3, we set out to build the best open models, comparable to the best proprietary models available for”, indicates the group.

Meta is also launching a new version of itsassistant Meta AI, which uses the Llama 3 model. And little by little, this assistant, comparable to ChatGPT, is being deployed on the group's products and services. In addition to the United States,Meta AI is now available for English-speaking users in Australia, Canada, Ghana, Jamaica, Malawi, New Zealand, Nigeria, Pakistan, Singapore, South Africa, Uganda, Zambia and in Zimbabwe, in addition to the United States.

The group also indicates that this is only the beginning. And the goal is to make the model multimodal and multilingual. However, it is not yet known when the technology will be available in French. In any case, in countries where Meta AI is already available, it will be very present on the Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp applications.

Like Google and Microsoft,Meta is integrating generative AI throughout its products. For example, Meta AI will be available in Meta messaging, and can even be called to request information in group discussions.

Besides this, the Meta assistant will also be accessible on the search bars.

Meta AI on WhatsApp is expanding to more than a dozen countries in English 🌍

if it’s available in your country, you can now ask Meta AI a question right from the search feature at the top of your chatspic.twitter.com/M6puLhkQNm

And on the Facebook news feed, a “Meta AI” button may also appear, under the publications, to allow the user to query the artificial intelligence. Finally, there is a new dedicated site, on meta.ai, where the user can use the Meta assistant without using social networks (and without connecting to a Facebook or Instagram account).

Note that Meta is already preparing an even more powerful version of its AI.“Over the coming months, we will be launching several models with new features, including multimodality, the ability to chat in multiple languages, a much longer pop-up window, and stronger overall capabilities. We will also publish a detailed research paper once we have completed the training of Llama 3”, indicates the company.
