brings a lot of modifications and new features, some are a little
confusing and can cause problems depending on the users and
their machine.

Here is9 changes made by iOS 11, of which we
let's explain how it works and how to solvesome
problems
which appeared in a collateral manner.

1 – New video and photo formats

With iOS 11, Apple adopts HEIF (High Efficiency Image File Format)
for photos and HEVC (High Efficiency Video Coding) for videos. These
allowa gain of 50
% storage space
provided you have at least an iPhone 6s or iPad
Pro.

These recent formats are not supported by all devices and
retouching and editing software. It is therefore recommended to transfer the
files in a compatible format by going toSettings >
Photos
and select "Automatic"for the
transfer files to Mac or PC.

2 – 32-bit apps no longer working

iOS 11 no longer supports older 32-bit apps and you can find the
list of these incompatible apps inSettings > General >
Informations > Applications
.

If you absolutely need a 32-bit app, you need to upgrade to iOS 10. Or
then, you have to find a recent alternative on the App Store, which works
with iOS 11.

3 – Bluetooth and WiFi in the control center

With iOS 11, when the user turns off Bluetooth and Wi-Fi in the
control center, thiscoupe
only connections with accessories
.

Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connections remain active for use by
other iOS features and Apple products, such as AirDrop, AirPlay,
connection sharing, the Apple Pencil, the Apple Watch, or even the services of
localisation.

However, it is possible to completely deactivate Wi-Fi and
Bluetoothvia the Settings appfor users
who wish it.

4 – “Airplane” mode with memory

When the user activates "airplane" mode in iOS 11, this disables
completely connects the device's cellular, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connections.
However, it is still possible to use Bluetooth and Wi-Fi in mode
"airplane" by reactivating both.

And now under iOS 11, the systemwill remember that
the user has enabled Bluetooth and Wi-Fi
during the last passage
in airplane mode and turn off only the cellular connection next time
using airplane mode.

5 – Autoplay App Store videos

iOS 11 completely overhauls the App Store with a new design and
new editorial section, which gives pride of place to app demo videos,
which can launch automatically when a page is displayed.

However, not all users appreciate this behavior
automatic video playback. It is possible to deactivate it by
rendering inSettings > iTunes Store & App Store > Playback
automatic videos
.

6 – Disappearance of the 3D Touch gesture for multitasking

With iOS 11, Apple removed the 3D Touch gesture which allowed access to the
multitasking, it will however make its return in a future update
d’iOS.

There is also an alternative for users who don't like
request the Home button, to do this you must use the functionality
AssistiveTouch inSettings > General > Accessibility >
Assistive Touch
and add "Multitasking" In
"Customize parent menu".

7 – Access to the AirPlay button

From the Control Center under iOS 11, it is not possible to access
directly to the AirPlay button. To do this, you must first press the
Music widgetand then on the AirPlay icon located at the top
right of the widget.

8 – More native integration for Twitter or Facebook

In iOS 11, Apple removed native Facebook and Twitter integration to
easy sharing without having to install social network apps.

The only way to revert this behavior is now
install the Facebook and Twitter app.

9 – Email problem with Exchange and Office 365

There are currently issues with Exchange and Office 365 under iOS 11,
some users cannot send emails.Apple is at
courant
of this problem and is working on afix in a
next iOS update
.

In the meantime, some users are able to temporarily correct the
issueby activating/deactivating Wi-Fior the
airplane mode.
