NotchNook: When your MacBook's notch becomes an interactive dashboard

NotchNook is the equivalent of Dynamic Islandof the iPhone, but specially designed forMacBooks equipped with a notch. Its latest update bringsa lot of new features to make it even more useful. If you have a device without a notch, NotchBook will ensure that your screen includes a virtual one and will still remain compatible.

A dynamic and functional notch

Drawing inspiration largely (and that's good!) from what is done on the iPhone, NotchNook in version 1.2 allows you toview media content currently playing on your Mac, whether it's YouTube videos, SoundCloud songs or even Spotify podcasts.

In this version, the Dynamic Island transforms into a space completely adaptable to your needs. The application now allowsadding unlimited number of widgets, which are intelligently reorganized to accommodate the width of the notch.

No more adjusting each widget to fit into that tight space. Now you can scroll through all your favorite widgets much more easily. As you can see in the video below, the whole thing is remarkably fluid.

One of the major advances in this 1.2 update lies inthe complete overhaul of the display for volume and brightness adjustments. Previously, these changes were accompanied by unsightly opaque squares, often hindering screen visibility, particularly when watching video content. It's in the past! NotchNooknow integrates these indicators within the Dynamic Island itselfand guarantees better fluidity when you make your adjustments.

If you want to try NotchNook, you can go tothe official website of the developer. You havea three-day free trialand if you like the application, two options are available to you. A subscription for 3 dollars per month (2.75 euros) or a lifetime subscription for 25 dollars (around 22.90 euros). To operate NotchNook, you will need to have a device running at least MacOs 14.0.

  • The NotchNook application has been upgraded to version 1.2.
  • The application has new features: better support for widgets, sound and brightness settings, display of multimedia content, etc.
  • The application can be tried for free for three days or purchased for around twenty euros.
