Fairphone 4: a smartphone that does good for the environment

In May 2013, we discovered the very first Fairphone, a smartphone more respectful of the environment and work ethics than its competitors. Since then, the “green phone” has come a long way. From October 25, 2021, the Fairphone 4th of the name will be available. What does he offer more than hispredecessors?

Fairphone 4, an ecological and 5G compatible smartphone

Finally, two possible models: 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage or 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage.

In terms of camera, we are entitled to two main lenses, with a 48 MP main camera and the wide-angle lens, and a 25 MP front camera to take your best selfies. We also discover a light sensor for very fast autofocus and high quality photos. Something to satisfy photography enthusiasts.

To put it simply, this represents 100% compensation for the materials placed on the market. And that’s a first in the smartphone sector.

Keep your Fairphone longer

Having a phone made with environmentally friendly materials and neutral in electronic waste is already good. But a problem of our time that is also harming the planet is the obsolescence of our electronic devices, led by the telephone.

Note that on average, we only keep our phone for 25 months before changing it. A ridiculous lifespan, when we see the negative environmental impact of manufacturing a smartphone. A phone that’s still so easy to repair

The Fairphone 4 is, of course, still modular and easily repairable. Moreover, the 6 GB/128 GB model obtained a French repairability index of 9.2/10. For the 8GB/256GB model, it's even better since it obtained a score of 9.3.

For the 6 GB/128 GB model, it will come in gray or green and will be available at a price of 579 euros. For the 8GB/256GB model, you can choose an exclusive color: speckled green. All this for the sum of 649 euros.
