iOS 17: these new shortcuts will make your life easier

The Shotcuts app has been in the news a lot lately. And for good reason, it is gaining in importance with thearrival of the Action button on the iPhone 15. And with thenew updates rolled out by Applefor its different devices, the application benefits from many new features. Some previously existing features have also been updated.

Let's see together today the most interesting changes and additions for iOS 17.

Let's start with the new actions:

  • Audio transcription: it is now possible tocreate a shortcut to generate text from an audio file.
  • Clock: you will now be able to delete or modify your alarms more quickly, this shortcut will not help you if you have trouble waking up in the morning.
  • Camera: iOS 17 offers the ability to create a shortcut to open Camera in a specific shooting mode.
  • Passwords: you can nowAccess your saved passwords faster.
  • Scan document: This new shortcut allows you to capture a document and save it directly to the Files app.
  • Timer and Stopwatch: New shortcut options are available to measure your activities.

Regarding the actions that have been upgraded, let's see the most interesting of them:

  • Timer: it was previously not possible to start a new timer if another was already running, this is now no longer the case.
  • Volume: it is now possible to choose to create a shortcut for either the media volume or the Ringtone volume.
  • Health: The shortcut now supports more data types.
  • Photo: the shortcut for taking a photo which previously worked well, but could encounter some problems during successive captures, this is now fixed.

The shortcut used to invite people to an event has also been updated, as has the one used to obtain details of the network to which you are connected. Additionally, personal automations that launch shortcuts based on certain events now have the ability to run directly.
