For Oculus founder, Apple made “a very good” VR headset

Apple has been working ona mixed reality headset(both augmented and virtual). The product is attracting great interest and many rumors about it have already emerged. The majority of them assure that the product is of high quality capable of “revolutionizing” the world of virtual reality.

In a simple tweet, Palmer Luckey, the founder of Oculus, gives credence to this theory. He explains that Apple's headset would be "very good" without giving more details. It is difficult to know what this statement is based on. Luckey is known for speaking his mind as he sees fit and he could have tweeted this little message having seen some concepts on social media.

Palmer Luckey: the “prophet” of VR

He could also have been invited to Cupertino (or elsewhere) to test a prototype version of the product, a few months before its release. Luckey is one of the “fathers” of virtual reality. As the founder of Oculus, he played a major role in the development of this technology.

After his company was bought by Facebook (in 2014), he began to distance himself before definitively leaving the ship in 2017. Despite everything, he remains a voice heard in the world of virtual reality and many developers still consider that he has a head start on the competition.

Launching next month?

Luckey could therefore have been invited by Apple to give his opinion on the mixed reality headset as if to “confirm” that Apple was going in the right direction. However, it would be surprising if Apple authorized Luckey to communicate in this way on his Twitter account.

The Cupertino company generally prefers to remain silent on the development of its products before the big announcement on D-Day. A date which should not take long. According to several analysts close to Apple, Apple could present “Reality Pro”during the next WWDCat the beginning of June. Expeditions will not begin until the fall.
