On June 18, 2025, Danny Boyle's blockbuster,28 years later, will be released in cinemas in France. It's an event in itself for fans of the saga and the seventh art in general. But for Apple, this feature film also represents an impressive showcase. Explanations.
A breathtaking rendering
Last September,Wired, which cited anonymous sources, informed us that the director shot his sequel using aiPhone 15 Pro Maxmodified with additional objectives. Sony, whose studio is overseeing this production, did not wish to comment on the news, which nevertheless seems quite credible.
And in fact, the first trailer for the film was released yesterday and it is visually stunning. Even with the video qualities of Apple's smartphone, we clearly didn't expect such impressive results, so much so that28 years latercould mark a turning point in Hollywood and encourage other filmmakers to take inspiration from this process.
What is 28 Days Later about?
According to the official synopsis offered by Sony:
It's been almost thirty years since the virus escaped from a biological weapons laboratory. Today, while quarantine is still ruthlessly enforced, some have found a way to survive among the infected. One such group of survivors lives on a small island connected to the mainland by a single, heavily defended causeway. When one of the group leaves the island for a mission into the dark heart of the continent, he discovers secrets, wonders and horrors that have mutated not only the infected, but the other survivors as well.
Casting-wise, we find a very solid lineup of actors: Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ralph Fiennes, and undoubtedly Cillian Murphy. Clearly, all the lights are green. Are you, like us, amazed by this first trailer? Tell us in the comments.
