First benchmarks putting the M1 Max chip to the testunveiled last night by Applehave just reached us. The component is currently available in two computers: the sixteen-inch MacBook Pro and the fourteen-inch MacBook Pro, presented at the same time. RAM and graphics card are soldered on the same printed circuit, which is almost four times the size of the iMac's M1.
According to a score published on the Geekbench application, the M1 Max accompanied by 32 GB of RAM obtains the excellent score of 1,749 in single-core compared to 11,542 with all its cores activated. For comparison, the M1 was satisfied with 1,687 points in single-core on MacBook Air against 7,433 points in multi-core. We are therefore seeing a notable improvement, the difference of which obviously needs to be qualified compared to the numbers communicated by Apple.

Intel still ahead
In this story, the big winner nevertheless seems to find himself on the side of the competition. Indeed, Mac Pros and iMacs still powered by Intel chips continue to dominate the top rankings with their sixteen or twenty-four core Xeon processors. However, we can bet that other handling will demonstrate the opposite:the CEO of Santa Clara himself assures that Apple has done a very good job with its silicon program.
The most curious will notice that this M1 Max runs under macOS 12.4, an edition of the software available only in beta for the moment. The test therefore seems to have been carried out in real conditions. Are you planning to buy a MacBook Pro with an M1 Pro or M1 Max chip?
