Renowned Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo recently published a new note for investors, giving his predictions about upcoming iPhones. According to the specialist, from 2020,all iPhones would be equipped with an OLED screen. Regarding 5G, two out of 3 models would benefit from it next year. We would have to wait until 2021 to see internet technology integrate the 3rd model, the descendant of the current iPhone XR:
Kuo generally relies on his sources close to Apple's suppliers to produce reports of this type. And it must be admitted that generally, he sees things quite right.
According to him, the 2020 iPhones would all be equipped with an OLED screen. There would be one of 6.7 inches, in line with the iPhone XS Max, one of 5.4 inches, in line with the iPhone XS, and a third of 6.1 inches diagonally screen, descendant of the iPhone XR.
We can therefore note that the screen of the 2020 XS Max model isslightly larger than the 6.5 inches of the 2018 one, and possibly 2019.
The iPhone XS sees its screenshrink a little. This goes from5.8 inches to 5.4 inches diagonalin 2020 according to the report. Finally, the iPhone XR should not change screen size.
Concerning the other information provided by Kuo, notethe appearance of 5G in 2020on both models in the XS range. In 2021, the XR would join the club of iPhones supporting 5G.
Finally, the report specifies that Apple could well become autonomous for 5G modems by 2022-2023. This is information that has already been heard in the past. The Californian firm is in fact currently working onthe internalization of the design of 5G models for its iPhones. This project should therefore see the light of day in 2 to 3 years.
The fact remains that these revelations are made while the2019 iPhonehaven't even come out yet. So it’s best to take all of this with a grain of salt for the moment.
