Spring Loaded keynote survey results: Apple hit the mark

On April 20, Apple presented a virtual keynote (which we summarized here). During the latter, several new products were presented, including a new 24″ iMac equipped with the Apple silicon M1 chip, but also new iPad Pros also powered by the M1 chip. Otherwise, the long-awaited AirTags have been seen, accompanied by a new Apple TV 4K. The icing on the cake is that a new purple color has arrived for iPhone 12 and 12 mini.

Apple also took advantage of the video to announce the upcoming launch of paid podcasts and family sharing for the Apple Card.

In short, the keynote was dense, edited in such a way as to leave little respite for the viewer, the latter seeing themselves caught up in this flow of announcements interspersed with demonstration videos and promotional clips that were more or less well-felt.

  • What do you think was the most important announcement from the keynote?
  • And was it a successful presentation?

Let’s detail the results together.

Unsurprisingly, the most important announcement in your eyes was…

The 24″ iMac equipped with the M1 chip! Indeed, Apple's all-in-one version 2021 isthe most memorable novelty of the keynote in your eyes. He received 32.8% of the votes. The new iPad Pro with its M1 chip is not far away and has scored nearly one in three voters (around 29.5%). The same goes for AirTags, which 27% of you considered to be the most important announcement of the keynote.

We notice here that these are still two new devices with in-house Apple silicon chip which are making an impact on the general public. And this could well continue like this with the next generation of Mx chip expected on Mac Pro, MacBook Pro 16″ or even iMac Pro.

The new Apple TV 4K and the purple color of the iPhone 12 and 12 mini obviously did not garner many votes. These are indeed more minor novelties.

A keynote that was very popular

Beyond the content of the presentation, it was the form that was obviously very popular. Indeed, out of several hundred votes, there are 70% positive responsesto the following question: “was this a successful event?”

More precisely, there are 44.6% of voters who say they loved the video and 25.8% of voters who say they liked the video without finding it perfect.

For 19.6% of you, the presentation was average. Finally, only about one reader in 1 does not consider this event to be successful at all.

Conclusions

The results of our survey, while not surprising, highlight the mastery of the Californian firm with regard to the production of its virtual keynotes. We obviously hope that the Apple Events will find an audience again soon. But during the pandemic, the American company will have brilliantly ensured the transition to this rather particular presentation format, which, it must be said, looks more like a promotional film than a real conference with on-stage demonstrations.

Finally, note that the Apple silicon architecture continues to be emulated after its arrival on the market at the end of last year. And it seemsbe just the beginning
