Ming-Chi Kuo recently dropped a bomb in the tech world, with a new report about Apple, and more specifically the next iPhone.
According to the renowned specialist, Apple plans to completely refresh the design of its iPhones in 2020. This may seem logical, given that the last design change for the iPhone dates back to 2017 with the X model. Since that time, the aesthetics of the iPhone have in fact remained the same, with the iPhone XS, then the This year's iPhone 11.
A major design change
According to Kuo, the next models should follow the lines of the iPhone 4 and 4s. They would therefore use a design with a flat metal outline, involving protruding angles with the front and rear faces of the case. Glass would be there on either side of the machine surrounded by metal.

To get an idea of what the Californian giant could offer for the 2020 iPhones, you have to look at the latest iPad Pro. The latter has flat metallic contours and is strongly reminiscent of the iconic design of the iPhone 4/4S.

The expected design change would not be without consequences on the price of the new devices. Indeed, depending on the source, the metal contour would cost between 25 and 50, or even 60% more than for current iPhones. The same goes for the all-glass front and rear panels.
But this aesthetic renewal, in addition to other major changes, would constitute an important selling point for the Californian firm, expected at the turn in 2020 after the iPhone 11 criticized for their lack of innovation.
Other big news for 2020
Kuo specifies that the next iPhones should all be equipped with OLED screens, while the latest trio, 11, 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max left LCD to the first mentioned.
New screen sizes would also be considered, 5.4 and 6.7 inches for the high-end iPhones, and 6.1 inches for the descendant of the iPhone 11.
A new 3D camera would also allow you to benefit from an improved augmented reality experience, while 5G will finally be available. The arrival of 5G on iPhone in 2020 is information that has already been cited several times in previous rumors.
What do you think of these hypothetical new iPhones with the design of the 4/4s models?
