According to thelatest
rapports de Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple would have planned three new iPhones with the
design of the iPhone X this year, a model with a 6.1-inch LCD screen, and
two OLED models in 5.8 and 6.5 inches, there could however be some
again on the notch side.
Indeed, according to a new report from Barclays analysts, the
TrueDepth camera system could see areduction of its
size in the next iPhones which would also decrease
that of the notch.
Analysts believe that technologically speaking the sensors used
for recognition will change little, however the size of the latter
could be reduced which would result in a smaller notch.
However, these forecasts from Barclays analysts go against a
previous rumor that Apple won't touch the notch until 2019
or later.
This Barclays report also mentionsthe arrival of Face ID in
the iPad Pro this year, which may not be revealed until
autumnaccording to the
journal Bloomberg.
These forecasts from Barclays analysts must be taken with a grain of salt,
because the iPhone X's TrueDepth camera system caused the year
latest in production delays, and Apple certainly doesn't want
reproduce the experience with three new models.
If Apple changes the size of Face ID sensors, its suppliers will
having to make adjustments to production lines for
next iPhones which could cause delays unwanted by the firm to
the apple.
This Barclays report also mentions Apple's development of a
system of
laser telemetryfor the rear camera of future iPhones which could be
Ready for 2019.
This telemetry system would use a “travel time” approach with
a sensor that would project a ricocheting laser onto nearby objects in order to
calculate and create a 3D image of the user's environment.
This would greatly improve augmented reality capabilities
of the iPhone.
