Last October, Samsung put the
hand in walletpour
buy new artificial intelligence technology, “Long live”, the
creators, a team of around ten people, are not unknown since
three of them arethe researchers behind Siri.
A month later, in November, Samsung announced that the Viv voice assistant
would be
available with their next Galaxy S8 smartphone, and the Korean firm
has just made this new competitor to Siri official, it's called
Bixby.
According to Samsung, Bixby will be "fundamentally different" from assistants
existing virtual ones, namely that it will be able to executeeverything that
user can do with touch controlsin the
apps.
Thanks to this deep integration into the apps, when a user
invokes the voice assistant at any time in an app, the latter can
understand the context and current state of the app, provided
of course it supports Bixby.
The user has the choiceuse touch controls or
voiceto ask Bixby to perform any action in
an app. And if any information is incomplete, Bixby will ask the user
ofprovide missing informationto be able to continue
his task.
The next Galaxy S8 will have aphysical button dedicated to Bixby
which is located on the side of the device, which will be revealed on29 mars
nextduring a press conference.
Initially, Bixby will only be available for around ten apps
preinstalled on the Galaxy S8, but it will open to third-party apps in
a near future. Samsung also plans to gradually bring its assistant
voice on other products (TV, connected watches, etc.).
