It was this night that Samsung, great
Apple's rival in the smartphone market, presented its latest addition:
theGalaxy S4.
For this successor to the now classic Galaxy S3, Samsung has chosen not to
not take any risks in terms of designtaking on a very
similar, unlike
HTC as seen here. But that does not prevent the Korean from succeeding in doing
to havea bigger screen(5 inches now) in a
similar surface. On the hardware side, changes also with a gain of
power of course. But the emphasis is also placed on the appearance
software.
Forward to a discovery of the new competitor of the iPhone 5 after the
good figures from
Galaxy S3 last year:
Specs techniques
On the technical specifications side, we talked about it in the introduction, the screen passes
from 4.8 inches to 5 inches and the resolution is also modified to
reach1920 x 1080 pixelsor a pixel density of
441 ppi. The iPhone 5 has a 4-inch screen with a
resolution of 1136 x 640 pixels and a density of 326 points per
inches.
In terms of processor, the S4 will have several configurations depending on the
markets, but this multi-core will operate between 1.6 and 1.9 Ghz with a RAM of
2 GB and a battery increased from 2100 MAh on the previous model to2600
mAhnow (compared to 1450 MAh on the iPhone 5, which does not have the same
consumption due to different processor and screen in particular). There
available storage memory will offer the same variants as the iPhone:
16/32/64 GB but now a Micro SD port that can accommodate cards
up to 64 GB is integrated. The photo sensor is now at 13 Mega pixels
(8 Megas on iPhone 5)
Size and design
The almost unchanged design, except for a more pronounced aluminum exterior,
use againplasticavailable in two colors.
But Samsung has managed to increase the size of the screen without
increase the size (already not negligible). The Galaxy S4 thus displays a
size of136.6 x 69.8 x 7.9 mm and a weight of 130 gwhile
that the iPhone 5 is obviously much more compact: 123.8 x 5.86 x 7.6
mm and lighter since it weighs only 112 g.

Application
On the hardware side, we therefore have here an evolution rather than a revolution, but
Samsung also worked onthe application aspect, in
adding features to its machine and the standard Android system. We
had mentioned, an automatic pause function for videos when
the user no longer looks at the screen is implemented, an optical reader for
business cards or words to translate, sharing music, sound
for photos, chat with screen sharing, other new features on the shooting side
in view of the new features relating to activity monitoring (Shealth) as well as the
possibility of hovering over the screen with your finger without touching it to do
appear information, or even the use of boosted infrared
to remote control your devices (hitting this return of infrared then
that it existed on the "old" PDAs for exchanges and had almost
disappeared).
Here is a new competitor for the iPhone 5 but also for the others
smartphones on the market (HTC, Nokia, Sony), which last year already found themselves
in the shadow of these two brands with Samsung's marketing spending
particularly which have been extremely important and are unlikely to slow down
This year.
We will follow the start of this model which should be available at the end
Avril.
As for Apple: will we see a reaction in this screen market which
grow from year to year?
To be continued!
