Samsung responds to Apple's €25 rag

The announcementhit the headlines. Last October, Apple put on sale a special cloth to clean its high-end Pro Display XDR screen. It is its selling price which has caused a lot of discussion since it is sold for 25 euros. Quickly, the idea of a cloth being sold so expensively provoked a lot of sarcasm on social networks.

A few weeks later, Samsung responded directly to its rival in a targeted marketing campaign in Germany. Concretely, the South Korean company has decided to give free cleaning cloths to its customers and Galaxy S20 users.

When Samsung mocked the absence of a charger in iPhone boxes

However, this initiative remains very limited in its scale. Initiated only among our neighbors, it only concerns 1000 wipes that they can obtain via the Samsung Members application. Some are also surprised by the choice of the Galaxy S20, a model that will soon be two years old. Offering this item with the all-new Galaxy S21 would probably have had more impact.

Note that this is not the first time that Samsungguides its marketing decisionsto respond directly to Apple. Last year, when the Cupertino company announced its intention to remove accessories from the boxes of its products, the South Korean company reacted directly.

Samsung thus published a publication on Facebook representing a photo of a USB charger. We could read “Included with your Galaxy". However, the company did not remain ironic for too long, since it announced a little later that it was adopting the same strategy as Apple.

As a reminder, the apple brand justifies this decision for environmental reasons. It counted more than 700 million iPhone-compatible Lightning headphones in circulation worldwide as well as more than 2 billion power adapters.
