A British user (again) saved by the Apple Watch

Clearly, the Apple Watch has continued to make headlines since the Apple brand rolled outits ECG functionality. Available on Series 4 andthe new model unveiled last September, the option allows users to record their heart rate and heart rate in thirty seconds.

The Apple Watch helped him avoid a stroke or heart attack

If some users were rather skeptical, this did not prevent the device from saving lives, or at least preventing some from ending too soon. This is what happened to Chris Mint, a thirty-year-old British father of two. A fitness enthusiast, he equipped himself with an Apple Watch in order to monitor his performance.

But when he performed an ECG, the Apple Watch detected life-threatening atrial fibrillation. The Briton therefore went to the hospital to find out more and was confronted by rather skeptical doctors. However, they still agreed to give him a five-minute ECG. Although doctors thought it was unlikely that Chris Mint had the fibrillation in question, the second test confirmed that this was indeed the case.

The medical team added that without the watch's signal, he could have suffered a fatal stroke or heart attack. She therefore redirected him to specialists who will take care of the operation he needs to do.

For her part, Tiffany Mint, Chris's wife, sent an email to the Apple boss to thank him, to which Tim Cook responded: “I'm glad your husband got treatment and is okay now. Thank you for sharing her story – it inspires us to keep reaching for more.».
