Here are the secrets of the iPhone 6s water resistance

There is
a few days, adventurous testerswanted to experiment
waterproofing
of the iPhone 6s case
. And against all expectations, the two iPhones, 6s and
6s Plus came outrather unharmed. L’iPhone 6s
would have a certain impermeability
protecting from dangers
liquids and can save some unlucky people from an awkward fall from
the iPhone in an aqueous environment. SOiFixitwanted to know
more and hasreopened the
beast
to find out the reason for this resistance:

The latest water resistance test showed that evenafter a
hour spent underwater
, both iPhone 6s and 6s Plus worked
encorecorrectly. A priori,only a trace
suspected
had appeared on the iPhone 6s screen.

Eager to understand these aquatic performances, iFixit, once
iPhone 6s opened, was able to highlightseveral points
interesting regarding the construction of the boxes
and what got them
saved from drowning.

First of all, the screen is surrounded by aadhesive tape,
perhaps not just made to keep the screen attached, but presents
also for another function which could be thatto increase
iPhone waterproofing
, according to iFixit technicians.

Furthermore, they also discovered thatspace between components
and the case is 0.3 mm wider
than for iPhone 6. The reason is
the presence, in this interstice,of a joint
rubber
.

Last interesting elements, on the motherboard of the iPhone, each
connector, from the battery to the screen, from the Lightning connector to the motherboard,
etc.,is coated with a silicone coating, a technology
patented by Apple.

So, in view of these differentevidencein favor of a
improvement of theconstructionof the iPhone 6s and its
waterproofing, and especially taking into account the latest deposits of
patent by Apple, including that of last March on silicone seals
waterproof, we can clearly see thatfor these latest iPhones
generation
, the apple firm has achieved aimportant work
in order to improve the waterproofness of the case
.

So even if we cannot qualify the iPhone 6s
waterproofbecause there are still unprotected components, the
progress made in terms ofliquid resistanceare
always good to take!
