The public version of iOS 18 is released this Monday, September 16on all compatible iPhones. Despite all the new features included in this iteration of Apple's operating system, we will have to waitiOS 18.1 to discover the first features of Apple Intelligence. iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max owners can already install the developer beta of iOS 18.1 to get a preview. Unfortunately, a handful of them are currently experiencinga rather disabling problem, since Siri no longer works.
Siri no longer works on iOS 18.1, what to do?
Many people with iOS 18.1 on their iPhone have no longer been able to use Siri for many hours. A message stating that “data for Siri is downloading» appears when they try to use the wizard. Enabling Wi-Fi to install data does not solve the problem. The download simply does not start or in the “best” case, simply gets stuck at 99%.
«Anyone else having issues with Siri not working? I have tried everything that has been suggested and I keep getting this pop-up message», worries a user on X. The problem has lasted for a little over 24 hours, but still does not seem to be resolved.Disabling Apple Intelligence allows older version of Siri to work, but this is not a satisfactory solution for users since it strips the assistant of its few new features.
Just an FYI. If you’re on iOS 18.1 with Apple Intelligence you may see it downloading and Siri is not working right now. Could take a while to complete.pic.twitter.com/yWXZKXjWTg

Remember that installing a developer beta version involves many risks, which is why it's recommended to do this on a secondary device if you can. The public version ofiOS 18.1 will arrive on iPhone 15 and 16 in Octobernext and should work perfectly. On the other hand, Apple Intelligence will only be available in France in 2025.
