Survey: Apple Silicon and M1 chip, a revolution in your opinion?

Apple announced at its WWDC conference last June its project to develop the Apple Silicon platform. The latter actually consists of replacing the Intel platform on Mac, and thus stopping the use of Intel ix processors, by using a new in-house architecture. The first product of this Apple Silicon project is therefore the processorApple M1seen on the latest MacBook Air, MacBook Pro 13″ and Mac mini.

And as numerous tests have indicated, both in real situations and with benchmarks, this new M1 chip marks a new stage in the world of computing. It is indeed much more efficient than the Intel processors seen on older generations of products. But it also supports much greater battery life on portable Macs. There will definitely bea before and after Apple Silicon.

But there are a few conditions for this, one of which is extremely important: developers must provide work to adapt their apps and software to the Apple Silicon platform. This is the sine qua non condition for their solutions to benefit from the technologies of the M1 chip and future chips, and thus be more efficient on Apple Silicon Macs.

In addition, as illustrated by the M1 chip, the RAM is now integrated into the central component. On Mac mini M1 for example, it is no longer possible to increase the amount of RAM after purchase, whereas this was the case with the old Intel version.
