Historic Apple subcontractor describes augmented reality headset for 2019

Last week, Allen Horng, the boss of
Catcher Technology, an Apple subcontractor, claimed that his company would
soon to concentrate a significant effort on the design side ofparts for products
augmented reality
.

And according to the Nikkei newspaper, another major Apple subcontractor is on
the blow, namelyQuanta, who according to his vice-president
has been working for two years on areality headset project
increased
which should see the light of dayin 2019, sans
however, expressly cite Apple in its statements.

The Taiwanese firmHow many Computersis known for
have been involved in the assembly of several Apple products for a long time, such as
the Apple Watch or even MacBooks, which makes the Californian company
their biggest customer.

Leung, the vice president of Quanta, shared with the Nikkei newspaper
some details about his new project, namely that it is "a
type of helmet with a transparent lens or visor that allows
users to see through and interact with the environment."

However, we know Apple's interest in augmented reality with
ARKit, but also through the voice of its leader, Tim Cook, who
has repeatedly stated that augmented reality is much more
interesting than virtual reality.

However, since Leung did not mention Apple, it is possible that the firm
of Cupertino is not linked to this project, but it remains a possibility.

In a
recent interview in France
, Tim Cook responded to glasses rumors
augmented reality working withappsand
games using
ARKit
on which the Cupertino company would work.

According to him, the technology is not yet ready to create such a product,
while arguing that Apple does not have the aim of being the first to release a
new type of product, but prefers to move towards the most successful product
possible.
