Interviews Tim Cook: augmented reality glasses far from ready and code more important than English

After
a first stop in France
to visit several French companies and
speak with President Macron, Apple boss Tim Cook continues his
European trip to England where he is to inaugurate a startup incubator in
the University of Oxford.

Before that, he was able to answer various questions from The newspapers
Independent and Konbini about augmented reality glasses, but also
of learning to code at school.

Tim Cook says that one of the biggest advantages of the iOS ecosystem for
developers is the fact that Apple offers development kits like
ARKit, which do "most of the work" and leaves developers
integrate it in their own way into their apps.

Moreover, thanks to the huge user base of iPhone, Apple has become in
for one night the largest augmented reality platform in the world
monde.

He also responded to rumors of augmented reality glasses
working withappsand
games using
ARKit
on which the Cupertino company would work.

According to him,the technology is not yet ready to create such
product
, while arguing that Apple doesn't care about being the first to
release a new type of product, but instead prefers to release a product
successful.

Finally, in an interview carried out by the French site Konbini, Tim Cook
answers several questions about apps or learning to code
computer science at school.

He mentions as an example of French apps, Coach Guitar
available here on the App Store
and which allows you to learn to play
famous pieces on guitar.

Finally he talks about learning to code at school: "If I were
a 10 year old French schoolboy, I think it would be more important
to learn code than English
", because it allows you to create apps
usable by more than 7 billion people. He maintains, however, that he
It is still necessary to learn English to communicate with the world.

Tim Cook believes that learning to code should be offered in all
public schools around the world, and to this end, Apple is trying to make the
Swift programming language as easy to master as using
Apple products.
