Update – Subcontractors: AirPods 3 are now on the way

Update from Saturday August 1, 2021: the rumor seemsconfirmedby another informant on Twitter who went unnoticed this time but who has already been right several times in the past.

According to a new rumor published byDigiTimes, orders for flexible printed circuit boards (FPCB) began to be fulfilled in favor of Apple. This is also the case for a certain volume of SiP (system in package), which the newspaper believes are also intended for the production of the future AirPods duo. This has caused a lot of ink to flow in recent months, its last edition dating from March 2019.

For the moment, the supply chain is limited to a few units. However, the quantity of merchandise should seriously be revised upwards between now and the third and fourth quarters. Just in time for the usual end-of-year keynote that Apple should organize at the Steve Jobs Theater, if all goes well. This would then be the first physical conference of the apple brand since the start of health restrictions linked to the coronavirus pandemic.

You don't change a winning team

Among Apple's suppliers for AirPods 3, we find in particular the company Compeq Manufacturing. This name is not unknown to us, sinceits factories are, among other things, the origin of the AirPods Max wireless headphones. Listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange, the company is valued at 1.5 billion euros per hour at the current exchange rate. To bet on its success, however, you must go through the Taipei stock exchange.

The other manufacturer mentioned by DigiTimes is Zhen Ding Technology. Like the previous one, this firm could also be seen at the helm of the iPhone 12. Last May, DigiTimes also reported that its profits had been multiplied by two in just one year, following the excellent sales performance of iPad. Among the reasons for this success, we will especially cite the advent of teleworking withscores at the top of the basket in China.

What do we know about AirPods 3?

To date and as is often the case when it comes to leaks of this ilk, nothing is certain about the next model of true wireless headphones from Apple. Several hypotheses could nevertheless be put forward by the specialized media, includingthe one counting on a revisited design. This would change the appearance of the stems and the speaker, while in-ear silicone tips similar to the AirPods Pro would help the pair fit better in the ears.
