Like every year now, Apple organizes the Swift Student Challenge. This competition invites students to design their own application for iPhone or iPad. No precise directive concerning the category of the platform, but it will still have to be built withSwift Playground4.2.1 or later version of the service. This will therefore require using iPadOS 16 or macOS 13.Xcodeis also accepted by Apple, which also suggests the use of its Apple Pencil stylus to participants.
Candidate applications must alsooperate locallyand do not require an internet connection to view their data. The organizer specifies that a ZIP file can be linked to the content, in order to provide the necessary images and sounds.
Some prerequisites to participate
Participants in the European Union must beaged sixteenat least, compared to thirteen in the United States. You will also need to have an Apple developer account, but this does not require payment. Moreover, the winners will be entitled to a one-year subscription to the App Store as a publisher. This will then allow them to offer their creations on the Cupertino application store, intended for users of its mobile devices.
Apple also specifies thatonly studentsare accepted here. This, we guess, is in order to highlight the know-how of the youngest and train them in the code, the basic notions of which are nowadays almost essential to start a successful career. What prizes are up for grabs?
Winners of the Swift Student Challenge may be invited tola Worldwide Developer Conference de 2023, which will be held in June at Apple Park, the organizer's California headquarters.
