Test of Aukey wireless Bluetooth headphones (with 4 accessory promo codes in the article!)

The iPhone of
latest generation does not haveno more jack, it's a fact. And
better to accept it, especially since competing smartphones follow suit
also the step, either to encourage the use of wireless devices,
or to highlight other connections. However, the famous catch
headphones may still be missing for music listening in particular.

Apple may offer a Lightning-Jack adapter with its iPhones, but it is not
not always practical to have to carry an extra cable with you, in a bag
sports bag, a handbag or simply in your pocket. There is then the
possibility of using Bluetooth headphones. The apple firm offers some
moreover, theAirPods, Wetested them, more
they do not necessarily please everyone, due to theirprix, more
also the formatheadsetclassic. The solution
Bluetooth in-earcan then be relevant. THE
accessories manufacturer Aukey offers a model, at a very affordable price.

Rather well equipped, with internal battery, hands-free kit, buttons
controls on remote control and alternative tips, they are attractive on paper.
After several days of testing, here are pictures of our
impressionson these wireless headphones.

Premier contact

The Aukey earbuds are delivered in a very small cardboard box,
but well supplied. It includes the pair of in-ear headphones connected
by a wire, a USB cable for recharging, 2 pairs of tips
additional to adapt the headphones to any ear size, a whole
small explanation manual, 2 pairs of small pieces of rubber
additional items, a rigid closing pouch and a small hook for
secure the earphone cable.

As seen with other pairs of in-ear Bluetooth earbuds,
the small rubber parts with their protrusion are supposed in theory
allow the headphones to be held in the ears better.

Everything seems to be quite well made, even if the only material used is
plastic, which gives the product a low-end look. The design is
sober, even common. In the ears, the headphones are therefore very
discreet, which could obviously please some while others
preferred something more lively, colorful and stylized. On the other hand,
the earpieces areresistantto perspiration, which
does not leave too much margin in terms of choice of material and
conception.

Notable features of this pair of headphones include:
first theremote, which includes the microphone, but
also the hands-free kit controls, including a main button
used for pick-up and playback management for music and others
media content played on the iPhone or iPad. There are “+” and “-” buttons
convenient for managing volume and playlists.

Finally, this remote control includes the micro-USB socket necessary for
recharge, as well as a small LED indicating in red, the recharge, in blue the
proper operation and connection with a source device.

Holding and use

Concerning the holding of the headphones in the ears, it is rather successful.
Even in vigorous movements, at home or during sports sessions, it lasts
without too much hassle. Unfortunately, thedefectsinherent in
this type of in-ear design are present: cutting, noise
friction, feeling of isolation, ear sometimes painful following a
long use. Some will also suffer less than others after a
extended wear, it is very personal and will depend on preferences and
ear shape of each.

Fault to report concerning the remote control: the rubber protecting
the USB socket can sometimes get in the way when using a USB socket
a little too muchlarge, which may prevent the plug from inserting
correctly in the remote control.

Otherwise, Aukey achieved a nice coup with thebox of
transport
, a sort of mini purse bag, very pretty with its
checkered fabric and above all very practical, because it has a rigid opening,
like a glasses case.

As for autonomy, the headset is announced for 8 hours of music and
1h30 charge. Here are our measurements: we measured almost 9 hours of
music listened to at varying volumes, for 1h30 of charging. No disappointment on
the front of autonomy therefore!

The sound

Nothing to say about the sound on call, which is quite
correct. The volume and good and the microphone of the remote control
is of fair quality. This will be more than enough for the majority of
conversations in fairly quiet environments.

For music, it's also average, with acceptable sound,
good bass and highlighted mids, which makes it possible to render the voices of
intelligible and clear sung pieces, the same for podcasts.

On the other hand, at this price of less than 30 euros, no miracle, the treble is
to absent subscribers, while even if the in-ear design manages to
make a generous low end, impossible to go down into the
subfrequencies. But for listening during sporting activity, what this headset is for
is mainly intended for headphoneswill do the trickin
term of quality of the sound produced.

Conclusion

This pair of earbuds has several advantages: box
complete, well-designed carrying bag, practical headphones due to their
magnetization and their remote control. But on the other hand, she is not exempt
of defects, some due to its in-ear design which is not suitable for
all, others inherent to the entry-level niche, its average and quality of
average manufacturing.

Also, during use, we noted several
disconnectionsheadphones while playing on Deezer on
iPhone. Was it related to the model tested or to iOS? Hard to say, always
was it really annoying, even though it very rarely happens with
Bluetooth speakers from various brands.

In the end, for the price, and seeing what is provided, as much on the accessories side
as audio compatibility, including support forBluetooth
4.1
etcodec aptX(the latter not being available
on iPhone and iPad however), the contract is fulfilled for Aukey. The manufacturer
offers a product that is both accessible and well-equipped, especially since the target is
above all that of athletes.

True audiophiles will be able to turn to other better solutions
adapted and generally more expensive. But for a pair of intra input of
range, Aukey makes inefficiencyand the
sobriety, when the iClever earbudstested
at the start of the year
are a little more stylized, but overall a tone in
below. In short, the value for money is ultimatelybonand
we put aside the disconnections.

Other promotional codes are also offered until October 31.
