Coming soon: test apps from the App Store without installing them?

Pourtest an application, the current process on iOS is quite long. You have to find the software on the App Store, click on the button to download it, and validate the installation with Face ID or Touch ID. However, these steps could be reduced thanks to an interesting new feature.

Probably inspired byAndroid like other features that leaked recently, this improvement was spotted in a version of iOS 14 to which access was given9to5Macbefore the program is officially revealed. This could in fact be presented during the next WWDC,which is planned online only.

Clips

Today, if you click on a link that is supposed to open in an app but it is not available on youriPhone, you are redirected to the platform's website. It then displays the content on the page or offers you to download the iOS client, often after a few seconds of scrolling like with Instagram.

WithClips, of which an API would be provided to developers,iOS 14would instead open a preview of the app in a pop-up, coded in the same language as a native client. Just as some publishers offer on the Google Play Store withInstant Apps, this alternative would also broadcast a link to the App Store to install the complete application if the user is satisfied with their discovery. Developers would finally have the choice of which parts of the app they wish to highlight via this means.

Yelp,OpenTable,DoorDash,YouTubeetSonywould already be in the loop.
