Tim Cook assures that the Apple Vision Pro is already “a success”

Apple takes risks. The Apple brand, whose inaction has long been criticized (particularly in the folding smartphone market) has just made two big bets for its future. On the one hand, in February it launched the Apple Vision Pro, its first virtual reality headset.

If the device is undoubtedly one of the products of this year 2024, it has not really met with the commercial success hoped for by Apple. A few months later,it's Apple Intelligencewho had the right to all the qualifications. The new feature was to integrate artificial intelligence into our iPhone, iPad and Mac.

Problem, 4 months later, the functionality is still awaited, and the first renderings are not as “revolutionary” as the announcement promised in June. Faced with these two extremely ambitious projects, Apple is currently struggling to tick all the boxes.

Tim Cook very obliging

In this complicated period, the boss of a company like Apple can adopt two strategies. The first, but also the most common, consists of denying the current difficulties, focusing only on the figures that suit Apple. This is the position that Tim Cook decided to adoptin his last interview, granted to the Wall Street Journal.

The boss of the Apple brand described the Vision Pro as a “success”. He nevertheless tempered his remarks assuring that he "would like to sell more", thus implying that the figures are ultimately not so good for Apple's first virtual reality headset.

Andl’Apple Vision Prowas defended by Tim Cook, the boss of Apple was even more complacent with Apple Intelligence. The software feature, which the world is still waiting for, is already described as “best for the user” by Cook. In this same interview, he is asked about Apple's timing, which seems to be behind its main competitors.

Cook defends himself and recognizes that Apple was not the first company in the artificial intelligence segment. The Apple brand would have taken the time to develop the “best” AI functionality before presenting it last June. Apple Intelligence should arrive on iPhone in a few days, withthe release of iOS 18.1.

Tim Cook confirmed that the update would be available in the coming week, without being more specific. The iPad mini 7, also compatible with Apple Intelligence, has just arrived on the market starting at €609.
