The Cannes Film Festival is always a popular venue for celebrities. In addition to actors and directors, other personalities are present in the south of France for this week like no other. This is particularly the case for producers. In this regard, Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, went to Cannes to attend the screening of “Killers of the Flower Moon”, the latest film by Martin Scorsese.
This feature film is in fact produced by Apple, forits SVOD platform Apple TV+. Tim Cook therefore took advantage of the Cannes Film Festival to go to a screening of the film and chat with the actors. In a message published on his Twitter account, the Apple boss thanks the teams who worked on this film.
“Killers of the Flower Moon” would thus be an “incredible story”. An opinion shared by the public of the Croisette. During its first screening, the film received a standing ovation lasting more than eight minutes. In addition to having an XXL cast, including Leonardo Di Caprio and Robert de Niro, the direction by Scorsese, absent from Cannes since 1986, seems to have won over everyone.
“Killers of the Flower Moon” returns to a true story in Oklahoma in the 1920s. The film notably evokes the massacre of the Osage, an Indian people who inhabited the region until the interwar period.
Apple: the big winner in history?
As far as Apple is concerned, the film should be released in theaters first. A firsttrailerhas just been published by the apple brand. He announces the date of October 6 for the worldwide presentation of the film. A few weeks later the feature film will be available to everyone with an Apple TV+ subscription.
With this big cost, the Apple brand hopes that this film will succeed in bringing new subscribers to the Apple SVOD platform. Far behind Disney+, Netflix and Prime Video, Apple TV+ aims to be a premium solution, choosing quality over quantity.
