Top start for 5G in France: SFR launches in Nice

The conditions to benefit from it are known. 5G is debated in France

Grégoire Rabuel, the general director of SFR, also specifies that the new mobile network technology will soon be accessible to subscribers in the cities of Paris, Nantes, Marseille, Bordeaux, and even Montpellier in the coming weeks. Le Figaro also notes that Orange and Bouygues will also soon launch their 5G network, on November 26 and December 1 respectively.

As a reminder, 5G is the subject of a lively political debate in France and its launch is highly contested. Operators must notify the mayors of each municipality where they deploy their network andthis is not always obviousbecause several environmentalist municipalities have already expressed their hostility, this is particularly the case in Lyon and Bordeaux.
