Three major associations support Apple against the FBI

For several weeks now, the plot has been part of the seriespolicy. A gun attack took place (again!) in the United States and the authoritiesput pressure onon the iPhone manufacturer so that it sets up a backdoor allowing access to the models owned by the suspect.

The problem is that acting in this way potentially risks compromising the personal data of many Internet users and that does not pass muster for a global society which sees GAFAM as increasingly intrusive in ourprivate life. Fortunately, players like Appleseem to want to make a difference, and are supported by heavyweights in the human rights sector.

146 years of cumulative experience at the helm

The American Civil Liberties Union (better known by its acronymACLU), the Electronic Frontier Foundation and the Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC) have just jointly declared their grievances against the FBI and its request.

The first, created in 1920, has already fought against the practices of the NSA and is therefore not new when it comes to defending citizens. The second, for its part, has been based in California for 20 years and is therefore familiar with the multinationals operating there. For her part, she is trying in particular to change the legislation relating to troll patents,a fight that lasts and which also concernsApple. Finally, EPIC began a mission similar to that of its two sisters in 1994, with the main aim being prosecutions against Facebook and Microsoft.

But in any case, what is the point of continuing to evolve this debate if not to raise awarenesspublic opinion? Justa few hundred dollars to hack almost any Mac. And it’s accessible to everyone.
