Withings releases a successor to the Pulse Ox bracelet: the “Pulse HR” tracks activity, heart and sleep

The French startup Whats is returning to the forefront. After the unfortunate episode of the takeover by Nokia in recent months, Eric Carreel, the co-founder of Withings, bought the brand from Nokia to take control of it.

In recent weeks, several products have been released or announced, such asthe Steel HR Sport tested here recently. Today it is the successor to one of the very first activity tracking products launched by Withings which has just been unveiled, thePulse HRto discover here.

This is the successor toPulse Ox tested thereon iPhon.fr and moreon sale hereless than 40 euros. But what's new? Almost everything:

The Pulse HR is a connected bracelet with aOLED screenwhich ensures aheart rate monitoringthanks to a PPG (photoplethysmography) heart rate sensor. This measures the pulse in 10-minute intervals, day and night. It also offers continuous heart rate measurements during workouts and activity sessions.

The bracelet offers amultisport tracking with more than 30 different activities, such as walking, running, swimming (waterproof to 50 meters) and many others. It can also calculate the distance traveled and calories burned during sports sessions.

Thesleep trackingis also on the Pulse HR program. It detects sleep duration and quality and provides a sleep score in the Health Mate appavailable here on the App Store. Anew “Smart Wake-Up” functionallows a silent awakening at the best time of sleep cycles.

The screennow OLEDof the Pulse HR displays daily statistics (steps, distance, heart rate), but also thenotifications du smartphonelike calls, SMS, appointments and other apps.

Finally, the last important point, autonomy, Withings ensures that this is long-lasting, with20 days on a single charge. A significant gain compared to the Pulse Ox.
