WhatsApp finally integrates an essential functionality

Marck Zuckerberg's application has officially integrated an essential functionality into any messaging app. This is the fact ofbe able to pin a message.

The branch ofMetaindicates that its users now have the possibility of pinning all kinds of messages, whether they are of typetext, poll, image, or emoji.But contrary toTelegramfor example, unfortunately it is only possible to pin one at a time. The functionality is also now open to individual discussions, but also to groups. We also do not know at the moment whether the channels also benefit from it.

Users also have the possibility to choose the duration for which the message will be displayed in the exchange. This can range from24 hours to 30 days, with 7 days being the default option. Once a post is pinned, it isvisible on a banner at the top of the discussion(see photo below), until its display duration comes to an end. In the case of a group conversation, however, a person with rights can also add or remove a pin.WhatsApphas in fact stated that in multi-party dialogues, administrators decide who has the right to pin a message or not.

The feature can be very useful, especially as the holiday season approaches. Let's imagine, for example, the case of a group of relatives who wish to go to a given place for the first time. If not everyone has the address, then pinning it will make it much easier. It's a shame, however, that we can only do this with a single message.WhatsAppcould take an example fromTelegramwhich has a very practical system, where several messages can be pinned.

But given the regular additions that the application benefits from, we have no doubt that this could happen in the future.
