iPhone in the car with Clarion following in the footsteps of Pioneer and its appRadio

The manufacturer Clarion has just announced its
Next Gate, a direct competitor to Pioneer's AppRadio
(seen here), due to its compatibility with the Apple iPhone. This terminal
allows you to have access to part of its iOS applications on a large
screen much better suited to the car, instead of a car radio or a
GPS in the case that interests us. Because if Pioneer's AppRadio was attached to the
instead of a car radio, the Next Gate looks more like a GPS to attach to its
windshield.. and can therefore be more easily transported from vehicle to vehicle.

Equipped with a 7ā€ touch screen, the Next Gate benefits from connectivity
possible to the iPhone via its usual traditional cable, but also a
bluetooth connectivity and a micro SD port. Once connected to the iPhone, we have
of course access to music but also to directory contacts. The top
integrated speaker and microphone are advertised as much more powerful than
those of the iPhone, therefore improving the comfort of making a call in
driving.

If the radio is not integrated, unlike Pioneer's AppRadio,
the TuneIn application specific to the iPhone is compatible here, making listening to
radios possible via the phone's 2G or 3G connectivity. Some software
are currently compatible (Pandora, Vlingo, Inrix Traffic, InfoGation, etc.)
), Twitter and Facebook compatibility should arrive soon, and the
manufacturer announces other apps available soon.

The price is set in the USA at $269.99 for availability on June 1st on
the main sales sites (amazon.com, etc.).
