Solidity at the rendezvous?

During the Apple Watch Series 7 presentation conference, its manufacturer presented a technical feature that left everyone speechless. This is obviously dust resistance, IP6X. The waterproof certification has not been specified but we know that the Series 7 lasts up to fifty meters deep.

Unfortunately, we must not forget that the Apple Watch Series 7 is made of aluminum. A friable material that bends quickly. If you don't have the Series 7 in titanium or stainless steel, beware of falls.

Our opinion on the Series 7 screen

The screen of the Apple Watch Series 7 is 20% larger than that of theprevious model announced about a year earlier. Its brightness climbs to a thousand nits, which in theory allows it to be used even in direct sunlight. Its technical characteristics are as follows:

The Apple Watch Series 7 has a small 309 mAh battery that doesn't really last all day, obviously depending on your personal use. The Watch Series 7's battery recharges 33% faster than the Series 6. So much so that it only needs eight minutes of charging to last up to eight hours in sleep tracking mode. Technical characteristics quite different from the competition.

Performance and connectivity

When it was released, the Apple Watch Series 7 received a lot of negative reviews. And for good reason: its processor has not been updated. Just what you need in short, but in any case watchOS 8 is not very demanding so no problem really.

In general, the Apple Watch Series 7 offers a fast connection and transfers files in seconds. All communications go smoothly, from messages to calls.

What watchOS 8 is worth

The Apple Watch Series 7, beyond its technical characteristics, is also equipped with a very efficient operating system. I named watchOS 8, of course. Its watchwords are: confidentiality, speed and practicality. So let's come back to some key functions of this software, also compatible withl’Apple Watch Series 3 et l’Apple Watch SE.

• correction: the Series 7 can correct text more easily with the Digital Crown
• Concentration: a really very practical mode for choosing when to display notifications from your Apple Watch Series 7
• Sleep: Apple Watch Series 7 measures respiratory rate at night
• Locate: the app has been updated and the Series 7 now allows you to find lost AirPods

The Apple Watch Series 7, obviously, can also read and write SMS, whether thanks to its new keyboard or via the proprietary voice assistant Siri.

The Apple Watch Series 7 is not just a simple connected object: it is a real fashion accessory. In the opinion of its manufacturer, it was therefore more judicious to present the device not with the famous Overview / technical characteristics duo that we know from its sales pages but rather in the form of a true tailor-made collection. Our final opinion

The technical characteristics of the Apple Watch Series 7 may be very good, but the watch is far too expensive to suit all budgets which will probably prefer the most affordable versions of the same range (Series 3, Apple Watch SE) . However, it is the ideal accessory for an iPhone, perhaps just after AirPods. Indeed, there is simply no better than the Watch Series 7 for reading your wrist notifications and communicating with a simple glance – or a simple voice command to Siri.
