Apple Watch 2: the first rumors about the new features to come have just fallen

It's 2016
that Apple should offer its new version of the Apple Watch and as for
the iPhone every year, it should be enriched with new functions and
improvements.

Today, Mark Gurman of 9to5mac has just lifted the veil on what
should be the Apple Watch 2 according to its informants.

On the program, a FaceTime camera added on the front, increased independence
compared to the iPhone, a range further enriched beyond the three models
current. Here is what is emerging, with a real unknown, the functions
tested will not necessarily be there for sure!

FaceTime Camera

Apple is currently testing models of the Apple Watch incorporating a
FaceTime camera integrated into the border on the front of the machine. The idea
is thus to allow us to go beyond the simple voice call to allow
make video conferences directly with the watch, without having to go out
the iPhone in your pocket.

We also note that with WatchOS 2 which will be released this fall, Apple adds
the ability to take FaceTime audio calls from the watch. One step more
far to allow taking video involves launching a new model
with camera.

Cut the cord with the iPhone?

Currently, the Apple Watch is extremely dependent on connecting with
the iPhone. To cut the thread a little more, Apple should add a new
communication chip to the watch. Based on WiFi usage (no 4G
integrated), it would no longer require going through the iPhone for tasks
classic, as long as it is connected to a WiFi network. This news
chip should allow the use of “Find my Watch” thanks to a
positioning linked to the WiFi networks detected (it will nevertheless be necessary that it
can communicate its position by accessing a WiFi network to transmit it

The battery

As for the iPhone which has retained more or less an autonomy similar to the
as versions go, information from 9to5Mac seems to indicate
that Apple does not plan to increase the autonomy of its watch for the
V2.

It would seem, according to the information gleaned, that the majority of users
in fact currently end their day at 30 or 40% battery
available (I confirm in my case!). Apple could then improve the
watch, offer it more features with similar consumption
thanks to progress on the battery, but without gaining autonomy (or very much
little).

New ranges planned?

Apple is reportedly considering additional ranges for its watch. These
would be positioned between the steel model and the gold Edition version. Either
a price between $1,000 and $10,000. At this stage, the site cannot say
if it is a question of modified bracelets which would increase the bill, or rather of
new materials.

For these, the range of possibilities is vast with Titanium, tungsten
or platinum.

When will we see this Watch V2?

It seems that the update of the first model released last May is
planned for next year. We can therefore assume that the launch window
is similar to that of this year if we follow the periodicity
usual for the iPhone and iPad.

Let us clarify it once again, a year in advance, it is obvious that the
changes to the range revealed by the models currently being tested remain
subject to numerous hazards and therefore changes on the part of Apple.
