Study: More and more smartphones in our pockets and iPads at home

Once is not customary, it's one
French study that we are going to talk about today.

Carried out by Médiamétrie, it aims to study the behavior of
French regarding smartphones and mobile internet. We learn there between
other than access to the net via mobile is gradually catching up with those made for a
computer which is far from surprising.

However, what is particularly impressive is the speed
evolution of the phenomenon.Over a period of 6 months for example we
accounts for a 27% increase in people equipped with a smartphone.

If we go into detail we quickly notice that:

Mobile internet is showing exceptional growth.In a
year that’s 34% more users.. Note that this number is 5
times greater than that of the growth in the number of Internet users.

On the smartphone side, Android is ahead of Apple in number of users, which
seems logical given the number of devices equipped with Android... People don't know
not what they lose :)

The question we can now ask ourselves is the following:
what do people who use the internet since their
mobile.

Well, no surprise, because the study shows thatusers
mainly download apps for playing and entertainment but also for
keep informedsince current events come in third position
this classification of uses.

The study also shows us thatthe tablets are being installed little by little
in our homes. Finally when I say tablets, the iPad is on this
sector, the undisputed number one ahead of Samsung and Archos.

The typical iPad user profile is a man aged 35 to 49,
CSP+ living in the Paris region, married or in a relationship.

The use of the tablet is moving more and more towards consulting the
press and the game__ but does not seem to replace
the computer. For 9 out of 10 people, the tablet is mainly used at home.

Note that 5% of users only play video games on their
tablet.

In conclusion, and this opinion is solely my own, I think that the adoption of
Smartphones will continue to rise for some time, just watch
around you to see it. Android may well keep the
first place but I think that Apple, well positioned in the top sector
range can sleep peacefully.
