Testing the Muvit wooden case for iPhone 4/4S

The iPhone 4/4S cases offered by accessories specialists are very
numerous and it is not always easy to make a choice.

I must admit that it has been a while since a wooden hull
tickled and when I came across the natural wooden shell signed by
Muvit, I bought it because it theoretically represented a very good value
quality / price and I liked its rounded design which was reminiscent of
that of the iPhone 3GS.

After a few days of use, here it is already75eme
article
ofour “test” section
of iPhone accessories"
with the test result of this hull:

First of all the packaging, rather pretty and quite protective, which aims to
a large part on the recyclable nature of its composition, which is not
not surprising for a wooden hull.

Once the case is taken out of its packaging, you will immediately notice that
the hull turns outvery lightdespite its size.

Thefinish does not suffer from any defectsand the touch is
really very nice.

The rounded side of the shell ensures a rather comfortable grip and
gives the iPhone 4 a false appearance of the iPhone 3GS.

First disappointment, the hull does not integrateno fabric protections
inside
and I found this lack quite annoying for a
hull made of wood.

The cut is well made and the iPhone fits perfectly into the case that
either for the upper or lower part.

The 2 parts fit perfectly and there is no risk of them becoming
separate during use.

If a protective film is provided, great care must be taken to
installing the iPhone in the car casethe space between the iPhone and
the shell is so thin that the film will quickly be peeled off

during insertion.

By taking care to go slowly, the film does not fear anything on the sides
but when it is necessary to push to properly adjust the 2 parts, the film could
not enjoying maneuvering up and down. With skill and a little
smoothly, I managed to install the iPhone with the film provided.

On the other hand, I have very serious doubts regarding thicker films.
like those signed by Zagg, Wrapsol or BodyGuardz which, in my opinion, do not
will not return.

The shell ultimately turns out to be quite thick and we have a rather strange impression.
whatthe iPhone is at the bottom of the case when viewed from
face
.

All buttons and ports are easily accessible even though the thickness of
the shell risks being annoying for headphones whose jack socket has a
curved exit. Having headphones with a straight plug, I was unable to verify this
risk on my own.

But if this thickness is a guarantee of safety and protection in the event of
fall, it also turns out to bea real problem regarding the use
of the iPhone touch screen
.

In fact, the edges on the sides of the screen cover the face a little too much
front of the iPhone and the thickness of the case means that your finger will have the most
great difficulty in reaching the edges of the screen because they will stumble on these edges
thick.

Assuming that the iPhone can be held and operated with one hand,
my thumb couldn't select the edges of the touchscreen. In
taking the iPhone with my left hand and performing the same maneuver from my
right index finger, things were certainly a little better.

So,the difficulty, or even the impossibility, of easily reaching
the edges of the screen quickly irritate
and makes this hull
particularly unpleasant to use.

In conclusion, if this natural wood shell is particularly good
finished and rather pretty (at least for me), the edges much too thick
preventing free use of the entire iPhone screen in fact,
unfortunately, a shell to avoid except perhaps if you have very small ones
fingers.

It's all the more a shame as the hull offered on paper a very good
value for money for a wooden hull since you can find it,
for example, on
Amazon.fr
at the price of24€.
