Apple has just discreetly deployed the numbered version4C170of the operating system dedicated to itsThird generation AirPods. The pair arrived on the market last October, and offers as main improvements the arrival of the Spatial Audio mode to dynamically follow the movements of the head but also a certain resistance to water and perspiration.
Only downside: as usual, the developer does not indicate what precisely this version contains. So these are probably security fixes or stability improvements, but we can't be sure. Furthermore, there is noway to download this edition by hand; installation is automatic.
Prerequisites
However, we consider it advisable not to break the link ofBluetooth connection between your iPhone(or another linked iOS device) and AirPods 3 to update in the background. In general, storing the earbuds in their wireless charging case and plugging them into the mains can also help. Note that only AirPods 3 are affected here; this is therefore not the case for AirPods Max, AirPods Pro or AirPods 2.
Interesting discoveries regarding the 4C170 software may be made in the coming days; in this case we will update this article accordingly.
