AirTag 2: everything we know about Apple's next tracker

L’AirTagis particularly practical for finding a lost object, or even stolen in the worst case. On the other hand, the malicious use of Apple's tracker is also worrying. Malicious people readily use the AirTag to track people against their will. Multiple cases involving the AirTag have made headlines across the globe.

Apple, probably motivated by the positive feedback from those who use it conventionally and by the sales of the device, intends to market aAirTag 2 in 2025.Here is a little reminder of the different rumorsconcerning the Apple brand's next localization device.

The AirTag 2 is being revealed little by little before its expected release in mid-2025

Mark Gurman asserted last spring thatthe AirTag 2 would feature a brand new chip improvement of localization. The accessory could be updated with the second generation Ultra Wideband chip that debuted in iPhone 15 models in 2023. Additionally, the device would have better battery life.

The Bloomberg journalist also believes that the new AirTag's built-in speaker will beharder to remove to prevent deactivation of anti-harassment mode.Remember that if an AirTag that does not belong to you is too close to you, it will start ringing to warn you. Stalkers do not hesitate to remove it to stalk someone against their will.

Also, the AirTag 2 would have better range, possibly thanks to the “Precise Location” function available on the iPhone 15 and 16. The tracker, whose design would be quite similar to that of the first AirTag, could be integrated into the Apple Vision Pro mixed reality headset, according to Ming-Chi Kuo, analyst at TF International Securities. The latter as well as Mark Gurman affirm that Apple will launch production in 2025 for a release some time later,in the middle of the year.
