Among the
analysis firms, KGI is one of the most reliable in the universe
Apple thanks in particular to its analyst Ming-Chi Kuo who has very good sources
from production lines in Asia.
The KGI firm has just published a new report with forecasts of
sales for the next iPhone models in 2018, and estimates that the
6.1 inch LCD modelshould be the new model
most soldwhen it becomes available.
Specifically the 6.1-inch iPhone with LCD screen and iPhone X design
should be sold in100 million copies in 2018
according to KGI forecasts.
This would be made possible by aprice relatively more
basthan the other two OLED models in 5.8 and 6.5 inches, because
using less expensive screen technology and materials like a frame
made of aluminum instead of a steel frame, as well asthe absence of 3D
Touch.
Analysts expect a price of around $699 for the model with the
smallest storage capacity, it's this price coupled with an iPhone X design
which could appeal to a large number of users.
This figure of 100 million 2018 models with LCD screen would however
a sales record if it were reached in 2018, but not unachievable with the
end-of-year holidays which are very conducive to smartphone renewals
and purchases of new models.
According to aprevious
rapport de Ming Chi-Kuo, the star analyst of KGI, the three models of 2018
should integrate the Face ID facial recognition system and of course
make the Home button disappear permanently in favor of new gestures
touchscreens of the iPhone
KGI expects the 2018 LCD model to account for up to50 %
in sales of new models, and the rest would be shared between
the successor to the iPhone X and the new iPhone X Plus.
