After the iMac M4, make way for the new Mac mini M4 and M4 Pro!

Here, the Californian firm announced its new iMac M4. Today, it's the Mac mini's turn to make the headlines. Here it arrives equipped with the latest generation Apple silicon chip, the M4… And its big sister, the M4 Pro. This is the first time that we have seen an Apple product integrate this high-performance SoC.

Mac mini M4: what’s new?

• SoC :change in size, the Mac mini goes from the M2 and M2 Pro chips to the new M4 and M4 Pro. This of course guarantees a good performance gain and the ability to support the demanding features of Apple Intelligence
• Processor:up to 14 cores, compared to 12 for the old Mac mini
• Graphics:up to 20 computing cores, compared to 19 for the old generation

• RAM :64 GB maximum, compared to 32 for the old model, with a bandwidth of 120 GB/S, a gain of 20 Gb/s compared to the M2 model
• Screens:support for 3 screens (2 only for the Mac mini M2 and 3 for the M2 Pro)
• Rear connectors:3 Thunderbolt 4 ports for the M4, 3 Thunderbolt 5 ports for the M4 Pro (compared to 2 Thunderbolt 4 ports for the M2 and 4 Thunderbolt 4 ports for the M2 Pro)
• Front connections:2 ports USB-C
  
• Design :the new Mac mini is inspired by the Mac Studio with a taller case, but narrower than that of its ancestor. We gain in particular the two USB ports on the front panel. The Mac mini M4 is almost half as heavy as its predecessor

Regarding storage capacities and choice of finish, nothing changes.

The price list for the Mac mini M4

For this Mac mini M4, the first price is at699 €. At this price, you have a machine with M4 SoC (10-core CPU, 10-core GPU), supported by 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB SSD storage.

Storage can be doubled for example,against a supplement of €230. Finally, if you want 512 GB of storage and 24 GB of RAM,the bill rises to €1,159. Finally, for the M4 Pro version (12-core CPU and 16-core GPU), with 24 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage, count on €1,649.

Compared to the previous generation,the base price does not change (€699), knowing that you gain 8 GB of RAM in the process. On the other hand, the more high-end versions of the machine, with M4 Pro chip, seem to cost more than in the case of the old model.

Regarding availability, please note that pre-orders are already possible,for deliveries and an in-store release scheduled for November 8, as for the iMac M4.
