This is a real novelty on the App Store. Starting June 27, a new retro video game streaming offering called Antstream Arcade will be launched on the application store.
This development is enabled by the Digital Markets Directive (DMA) adopted within the European Union. Following this change, the Cupertino company has indeed decided to authorize third-party game streaming services.
An attractive offer
In detail, this new offer includes more than 1,300 retro games. Among them, well-known names: Pong, Asteroids, Space Invaders, Pac-Man, Dig Dug, Galaga and Hogs of War. Overall, these classics come from a wide variety of platforms including the Commodore 64, the Atari 2600, the PlayStation One and classic arcade games, reportsCult Of Mac.
Regarding the platform's subscription prices, you will initially have to pay 4 dollars per month or 30 dollars per year. Normal rates being $5 per month and $40 per year.
If we are to believe the feedback from our colleagues atTech Times, the cloud gaming service generally works very well. On the other hand, we report some concerns for“more complex games, like Worms on the PlayStation, had much longer loading times, making them less engaging”.
Regardless, this is a nice addition. Who knows this modest player in the sector will not soon be joined by the giants GeForce Now or Xbox Cloud Gaming. What do you think of the arrival of this competing service?d’Apple Arcadeon the App Store? Tell us in the comments.
