Qualcomm: Apple would divorce by completely doing without the manufacturer's chips this year

From
several months now, Qualcomm, one of Apple's major suppliers for
the iPhone and iPad and in particular their modem chip, is in litigation with the firm to
the apple. The mobile chip specialist was notably accused by the
Cupertino company of anti-competitive practices.

While Apple is in the middle of a legal dispute with the chipmaker,
according to a new report from the KGI firm, the Cupertino firm has decided
ofdo without Qualcomm modem chips entirelyfor the
next ranged’iPhone 2018and would provide exclusively
at Intel.

According to KGI sources, Intel's chips meet the conditions
techniques requested by Apple, moreover the microprocessor giant offers
more competitive prices.

The Apple firm has been using Qualcomm chips for many years,
and there are still some in its iPhone and iPad to this day, but Apple started
to diversify its sources of supply with the iPhone 7 in 2016.

KGI also mentions that Intel could be behind Qualcomm
regarding 5G technology, and therefore Apple could be "forced" to redo
call for Qualcomm components.

In this report, KGI also claims that Intel's modem chip will support
dual SIM allowing you to be connected to two networks simultaneously,
However, there is currently no tangible evidence that Apple will offer
this option in a future iPhone model.
