Apple (discreetly) increases the price of its MacBook Air M1

Apple has just finished its WWDC 2022 keynote presentation. During it, several new features were presented, concerning iOS 16, macOS Ventura, and even Apple silicon.

Precisely on this subject, Apple unveiled a new chip,la M2. This arrives on two computers, theMacBook Airand theMacBook Pro. The chip is obviously more powerful than the M1 and more economical.

But while one might have thought that the M2 versions of these Macs would push out older iterations, for the MacBook Air at least, that's not the case. The MacBook Air M1 remains in the range with the new M2 version at its side. First surprise.

The second surprise concerns the prices. The new MacBook Air M2 starts at1499 €. And the old MacBook Air M1 costs1199 €… That’s €70 more than a few hours ago!

In short, the arrival of the new MacBook Air M2increased the price of the MacBook Air M1 from €1,129 to €1,199.

And that's rather difficult to swallow. Especially since in the United States, the old generation machine remains at $999. The increase only seems to concern France, or even the € zone.

It remains to be seen the reasons behind this astonishing increase…
