- Apple revealed the fifteen-inch MacBook Air at WWDC
- The device costs 1,599 euros (at least) and will be released next week
- Powered by an M2 chip, this new laptop boasts 18 hours of battery life
Apple just unveiled a new MacBook Air during theWorldwide Developer Conference, which is currently taking place in California. The device has a large 15.3-inch screen, at the top of which sits a FaceTime HD camera, which should make it a companion of choice for video calls via the eponymous app. The design, for its part, remains faithful to that of the Apple firm's most affordable laptops. We thus find the aluminum chassis, with a format which remains relatively compact despite a more imposing panel now.

In terms of performance, the 15.3-inch MacBook Air is powered by aM2 chipwith up to ten graphics card cores. Enough to create photo montages without blinking, all accompanied by twenty-four gigabytes of RAM maximum. The Apple silicon program having already proven itself in the past, the tests should confirm the performance of this motherboard, where the strips are soldered to the rest of the printed circuit.
Who is this new MacBook Air intended for?
With its featherweight, the large display of the new MacBook Air is perhaps already positioned as thebest value for moneyof the year at Apple. Until now, reduced budgets had to make do with 13 or 14 inches, which is clearly not sufficient for multitasking or editing large spreadsheets. As for theMacBook Pro, their basic price remains inaccessible for many. This is where the 2023 MacBook Air will find its audience: halfway between performance and affordable technical specifications.
The rather light size will also allow you to take the device with you everywhere, a solution made easier in particular by its increased autonomy. The manufacturer speaks here of no less thaneighteen hours of endurance. So, of course, these figures are obtained in the laboratory, but still: at home, half a day will probably be reached without problem.
