On the ecology side and
respect for the environment, Apple is a very good student. The firm
Californian has recently received the best rating among the
tech giants
in the latest Greenpeace report. EtLisa Jackson,
vice president of the environment and social initiatives section at Apple
recently spoke with Bloomberg newspaper. The interview reveals in particular that
the Cupertino company achieved a green energy production rate of 96%
in relation to its needs. However, the efforts will not stop until
to have reached 100%:
This takes into account all Apple offices, data centers,
stores and distribution centers around the world. Note that in the USA,
and in more than twenty other countries around the world, the firm has already
reached 100%.
In 2015, the Apple firm had 93% energy use
renewable in the world, it is therefore 3 more points which are recovered in 2
years. The last 4 points will probably be the most difficult to
get.
Indeed, to reach a full rate worldwide, Apple still needs to
succeed inconvert its various subcontractors. Some
have already made efforts in this ecological perspective, such as Biel Crystal
Manufactory, Sunwoda Electronic et Compal Electronics.
But the goal is announced and nothing will probably be able to stop Tim Cook
in this desire for 100% green energy.
